I have always been big sized. Mostly because I had a very huge bone structure.
But I have always wanted to look perfect and have a perfect figure. So when I was younger, I would work hard on doing exercises and watch my diet carefully. I would do like 100 sit ups a day and eat very very little for my meals and thus, I was considered one of the school beauties in my school.
But as I grew up and the stress of working and studying at the same time got into me, I started many unhealthy and weight-gaining habits like eating late at night, smoking and drinking and most important of all, I stopped exercising altogether.
Even though I had wanted to lose weight, I just could not find a strong motivation to do so. Whenever I could not fit nicely into my clothes, I will just tell myself, "I will lose weight lah." And yet, I would still resume all the unhealthy habits and just binge and drink the nights away.
And then, my good friend cum sister, Clari, told me that her sister, Angel, lost 15kg within two months and I was really amazed when I saw her. She really looked pretty and I was really envious so I told myself that I would lose weight when I had time to exercise and meanwhile, I would just watch my diet.
Some time later, Clari started to lose weight too and I was really amazed at her amazing change. Even though Clari had always been rather slim and small built, yet, she still managed to lose weight and more importantly, her skin exuded this really radiant glow even when she is not putting on make up.
I started to wonder if I should do the detox. Everytime I met the two sisters, I felt a tickling desire to ask them about the detox and do it and yet, I kept procrastinating.
But one day, a passerby made a hurtful remark about my size and it really hurt me deeply. I suddenly realized that I was no longer the svelve, slim and sexy Eileen that I liked to be.
Over the years, I had put on more and more weight and my complexion was getting duller. I was starting to age and starting to look even older than my actual age. I was no longer so confident about myself and I was really not taking very good care of my body or my health.
Everyone told me that I was really pretty and that if I had lost more weight, I would look perfect. And so I thought, "What if I really DID lose weight? Maybe I should just give it a try."
So I went to Angel and told her I wanted to lose weight. She very kindly taught me how to do it. Alas, I did not have much determination and so after doing of half hearted detox, I got half-hearted results (lost a few kg) and then gave up and went back to my old ways.
But Angel told me that it is impossible to do the same things and get different results. If you just try, you get the 'try try' sort of results. One needs to decide to change for the better and make a difference. But I was just happy to fall back into my old lifestyle habits and true enough, without any change in lifestyle on my part, I soon started to balloon back.
And then I ended the relationship I was in and changed a new job, I decided then that it was time to start my life afresh. I went up to Angel and told her that this time, I was determined to do a INTENSIVE detox and intensive it was! Within 3 weeks, I lost 7kg altogether and now with some good lifestyle habits from Angel and Clari as a guideline, I have been able to maintain this weight to continue to look good and feel good about myself ;)
